About institution
The first written records about the school date back to the end of the 18th century, when the first teachers arrived in the village. A little later, in the 19th century, the school was located in the centre of the village, on the site of today's park. At the beginning of the 20th century, Bašaid had 4 school buildings and 6 classrooms, and over time the number of classes, as well as the number of pupils used to grow.
Today's school building officially opened in May 1973, when it got the name “1.oktobar”, which it still proudly bears. Today, the school has 336 pupils placed in 18 classes, from grade 1 to 8, and one combined class of pupils with special needs. The school has 8 classrooms for class teaching, while teaching in higher grades is conducted in study rooms. It has a well equipped gymnasium where both physical education classes and sports activities of the village youth take place, and it is very important for the cultural and sports life of our village.
