About institution

The Primary School "Miroslav Antić" in Čonoplja was founded back in 1950 under the name Primary School "Bratstvo Jedinstvo", but the institution changed its name in 1993. Since then, the school has been named after our poet Miroslav Antić. Teaching takes place in the school building, which was purpose-built in 1962, and over the last 10 years there have been major investments in the building itself (replacement of carpentry with PVC carpentry, replacement of the roof, demit facades, equipping with modern teaching materials). The school is recognised as a model school with inclusive education and as such, it participated in the project of introducing inclusive education involving 11 schools from Serbia, and whose experiences were implemented during the introduction of inclusive education as mandatory in all schools in Serbia. In 2012, the Ministry of Education and Science, together with the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation, singled out 50 good schools in Serbia, among which was the Primary School "Miroslav Antić". The criterion for distinguishing these schools is the school's contribution to the achievement of students / the level of education of the parents is low and the results achieved in the final exam are good / /Currently, 182 students in 9 classes are attending classes, which is 21 students per class /20.22 /. Instruction has been held in one shift since 2019, when the school entered the pilot project Enriched single-shift work in primary schools. The school is still involved in the project and performs enriched work with 9 modules after completing regular classes.
