About institution

Education in Elemir has a long tradition, the school started operating in 1752. In 1963, a new school building was constructed. Its name had been "Vuk Karadžić" until 1977, and then it was named after the national hero from Taraš. The school in Elemir has 16 classes, while a satellite unit in Taraš has 8. In our jurisdiction, there is also a kindergarten with 57 children of preparatory preschool age. Please note that since the school year 2014/15, there have been childcare out of school hours classes as well. We are proud of our good cooperation with our local community, numerous activities-events, and the successes of our pupils and teachers which promote the name of our school.
