About institution

The School of Economics and Trade is based in the building located at Glavni trg 12, together with the Grammar School of Senta and Secondary School of Medicine.
The School of Economics "Ljubica Popović" was founded back in 1960. It delivered education for the professions of Economic technician in bookkeeping and Salesperson.
Apart from regular classes, the school has successfully organised training and professional development. It has achieved major results since the early days and contributed to meeting the labour market demands in the Tisa region. Education in the field of economics and trade has not been interrupted, even in the periods of significant confusion when it comes to school education.
The Secondary School of Economics and Trade in Senta was founded based on the Council decision of the Provincial Fund for Secondary Education from 25 May 1990.
Nowadays, the school organises classes in 25 specialised classrooms, one gym and three outdoor sports fields.
Permanent employees of the school include 14 persons with BSc in Economics, teaching the economics related subjects, three mother tongue teachers, three foreign language teachers, two maths teachers, three teachers of informatics, two teachers of P.E. and four teachers of general education subjects, a school psychologist, secretary, accountant and support staff. The teaching staff takes part in professional development courses. The school has more than 350 students attending programmes for Financial Administrator, Business Administrator and Trader.
All education programmes comply with the labour market demands. There are many other activities organised at the school, such as exchange programmes with the School of Economics "Keresi Jozsef" in Szeged, Hungary.
The school has established an active cooperation with many enterprises, institutions and communities in both, public and private sector. Students of the Secondary School of Economics and Trade have participated in various competitions and demonstrated their knowledge quite well. Both the principal and teaching staff have been committed to paying special attention to good personal and interpersonal relations.
