About institution
The school was founded on 28 September 1950, by Decision no. 74 of the Educational Commission in Kikinda. At the time, four eight-year schools (Osmoletka) were formed, which did not have the same names as today, but were numbered from 1 to 4. When it was founded, our school's name was “Osmoletka broj 2”.
In the beginning, the school had seven classes formed by pupils of what was then primary - four-year school and pupils who attended the first three grades of the complete grammar school in Kikinda. It is interesting to note that when this school was founded, 804 pupils were enrolled.
In 1952, the teachers’ council adopted the proposal to change its name “Osmoletka broj 2" to “Osmoletka Vuk Karadžić" Kikinda.
